Mark Yuhasz is the founding member of Alfonso Films and Big Shepherd Entertainment. While studying film at Brock University in his native St. Catharines, Ontario, Mark Yuhasz discovered a passion for film. Mark produced and directed several of the monthly university television shows broadcasted on the local cable networks. For his thesis, Mark wrote, produced and directed the documentary, WHERE ARE WE NOW which was selected for broadcast on Channel 10 and used as a marketing device to recruit prospective filmmakers to the university. His passion and career was launched.
Upon receiving his degree, Mark began working as an actor. He appeared on KIDS IN THE HALL, TOP COPS, GUIDING LIGHT, THIRD WATCH, and numerous commercials, network shows and theater productions. Yuhasz studied at the world-renowned SECOND CITY IMPROV school at the Old Fire House in Toronto. After touring with the company, Mark landed in New York where for the next three years he began studying the Meisner technique with WILLIAM ESPER at his studio.
As a new Esper graduate, Mark landed leading roles on six different independent films, including, HACKS, VLK, NEXT YEAR IN JERUSALEM and DRUNK TANK. While working as an actor Mr. Yuhasz returned to his first passion writing and directing. He directed an “off Broadway” productions of Michael Weller’s AT HOME, and Edward Allen Baker’s FACE DIVIDED.
In the final adjustment to a growing career Mr. Yuhasz moved into Film Production Management. He has successfully produced and managed a number of feature films, commercials, high budget short films, including working with Mr. Wasserman on the snowboarding action/drama SWITCH and true story baseball film THE FINAL SEASON starring Sean Astin, Powers Boothe, Rachael Leigh Cook and Tom Arnold. In 2007, he produced the award winning Canadian Arts Council funded short film THE UNTITLED PUPPET PROJECT, and the independent feature length film A LIFE LESS GONE as well as the web series DO YOU BELIEVE ME.
In 2009, Mr. Yuhasz worked as a consulting producer on the FOX distributed television show KINGS RANSOM. Also, in 2009/2010 Mark produced the Canadian cooking/fitness television show called BODY FUEL and the technology television show GADGET GIRZ as to be seen on MenTv and SunTv.
Currently in 2010, as a Producer Mr. Yuhasz is in development on the feature films FBI and the television series Deep River with Open Concept Films.
